Have you ever noticed that you’ve gotten yourself into a rut? It could be with how you spend your time, the snacks you choose, your relationships, or even the route you drive when you leave your house. Why is that? Simply put, we get used to doing things the same way.
How we move our bodies is no different. We have an amazing ability to compensatefor our movement patterns without even realizing it. We get into a movement rut.
Here’s a challenge for you: The next time you brush your teeth, pay attention to how you are standing at the bathroom counter. Do you stand on one leg, lean on the counter, or walk around? These positions reveal something about yourself and connect to your movement patterns and habits.
Becoming aware of your actions is the first step in making necessary changes. So, check yourself out the next time you brush your teeth and pay attention to what you find. If you discover something new or interesting and want to explore it further, give me a call. We can take that journey together.
